CBI probes Shah’s stock market investments

Ahmedabad: CBI is now probing former Gujarat minister of state for home Amit Shah’s investments in the stock market. Officials said they have collected evidence to show that Shah made heavy investments in the stock market. Evidence on Shah’s financial transactions has been unearthed by CBI in connection with the Sohrabuddin fake encounter case.

“Shah, along with two other accused Ajay Patel and Yashpal Chudasama, who are chairman and director of Ahmedabad District Cooperative Bank, had invested heavily in the stock market and real estate sector,” said CBI officials. Patel and Chudasama are absconding. CBI has got an arrest warrant against the duo. CBI sources said that most of the stock market investments are in the names of Shah and Chudasama. Most of Patel’s investments are in land and real estate. “The information was unearthed when we initiated procedure to attach the properties of Chudasama and Patel,” said CBI officials.
