After night in lock-up, Kalmadi in court today

New Delhi: Suresh Kalmadi spent his first night in CBI lockup after his arrest on Monday. He will be produced in court on Tuesday; the CBI is seeking his remand.

The investigating agency has charged him with criminal conspiracy to buy timing, scoring and result system from a Swiss company at an inflated cost of Rs. 141 crore.

Soon after the arrest, came his suspension from the Congress party.

Kalmadi was the Lok Sabha MP from Pune. Aides of Kalmadi who are already in jail for CWG scam are Lalit Bhanot, VK Verma, TS Darbari, Sanjay Mahendroo and Jayachandran.
