Another horror in UP: Girl resisting rape stabbed in the eye

LUCKNOW: Even before the Mayawati government could crack the case of murder and alleged rape of a minor in Lakhimpur, another shocking case of attempted rape of a minor girl has been reported from the state.

According to reports, a 14-year-old girl was stabbed in the eye while resisting rape in Kannauj district of Uttar Pradesh.

The doctors attending to the girl have said that her left eye has been severely damaged.

The outraged family has sought justice from the government. They alleged that the cops initially refused to lodge their complaint.

The state government has suspended one sub-inspector and a constable on charges of negligence for not filing FIR on time.

However, the police have not managed to make any arrests in the case.

Speaking to Times Now, the SP of Kannauj Rajendra Singh said the police were on trail of the culprits and they would be nabbed soon.

The two accused Kuldip Loniya and Niranjan Yadav are absconding.

The horror in Kannauj will add to the troubles of chief minister Mayawati who is already facing flak from several quarters over the Lakhimpur case.

In Lakhimpur, a 14-year-old girl was murdered in a police station and her body was found hanging from a tree in the compound.

The parents of the girl have alleged that the girl was first raped and then murdered by the cops.

However, the post mortem report has failed to confirm rape of the girl.
