JJ Patel elected state bar council head

Ahmedabad: The high-voltage Bar Council of Gujarat polls finally saw JJ Patel being elected as its chairman on Sunday. It is worth noting that the BJP-led panel has been dominating the Bar Council of Gujarat (BCG) for the last four years.

Patel has been instrumental in maintaining the BJP stronghold on the BCG. In another capacity Patel is also the convenor of BJP’s legal cell.
Other elected members of the BCG included: Gopinath Amin as vice-chairman; Rameshchandra Shah, executive committee chairman; Bharat Bhagat as enrolment committee chairman, while Hira Patel has been elected as chairman of the finance committee. Virendrasinh Chauhan and Vijay Patel have been elected as chairmen of the rules and Gujarat law herald committee respectively.
