First ever case of POCSO against a lady tuition teacher who eloped with minor student

In first ever case registered under sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) against a woman, Ramol police while producing accused Manish Johsi, 38 before the court sought seven days of Police remand.

According to police source, the court allowed them to keep the custody of the accused for one more day for medical examination and deferred the remand plea hearing for Monday.

"We have to go to Bhinmal in Rajasthan, Surat and Mumbai too. These are the places where Joshi and 16 year old boy had stayed to together after Joshi and coerced the boy into fleeing with her. We also want to probe whether there is child trafficking angle attached to the incident" added Inspector Paresh Solanki of Ramol police station.

Solanki added that they have sent Joshi for medical examination to civil hospital on Sunday evening. "She will stay at the civil hospital campus till Monday morning. We will then again produce her before the court later on the same day" Solanki added.
It is important to mention that Joshi, was used to give private tuition teacher to the 16 year old, class ten boy with whom she eloped on May 1.


According to police they remained together till Saturday afternoon till the Joshi, mother of two was apprehended from Odhav Ring Road.


Meanwhile the boy was handed over to his parents on Saturday evening. "The boy till Saturday evening was adamant and repeatedly said that he wanted to marry Joshi. Even Joshi's relatives rushed to the police station. Joshi's husband runs private business" added a police source.


Police officials said Joshi had earlier too disappeared from her house and returned after three days.
