Gujarat High Court to begin auto-listing of bail cases, quashing petitions

In a step towards transparency and accountability, the Gujarat High Court has decided to begin pilot implementation of auto-listing certain categories of fresh cases with effect from July 7, 2022.

The following three categories of matters will be considered for auto-listing in the cause list
:

These will include:

1. Regular bail applications and criminal appeals under The Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 will be listed on 2nd day of filing;

2. Anticipatory bail applications and criminal appeals under The Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 will be listed on 3rd day of filing;

3. Quashing petitions under Section 482 of the Criminal Procedure Code and special criminal applications under Articles 226 and 227 of the Constitution will be listed on 3rd day of filing;
