No bail for music teacher accused of molesting student

A special POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act ) court on Thursday denied anticipatory bail to the music teacher who is accused of molesting his eight-year old student in a Satellite school. Additional sessions judge G N Rana in Mirzapur rural court campus refused bail to music teacher Sachin Dangi, who allegedly pinched a student's cheeks and thighs and demanded that she undress before him. The girl complained about this on December 16 after coming home from school.

After Dangi applied for protection against arrest, the girl's mother took an objection and her lawyer Mehul Srivastav submitted that there was no point in disbelieving the student, neither should her character be doubted at such a tender age.

To counter the accused teacher's contention that an arrest might spoil his career, the cops filed an affidavit and apprised the court that Dangi had faced similar accusations before when he was working with another school, advocate Srivastav said.

Dangi argued that the CCVT footage did not reflect any such incident and hence he be granted bail. To this the prosecutor submitted that the CCTV cameras were not placed inside classrooms.
