CBI likely to charge Raja, DMK TV, Swan, Unitech

The CBI will name former telecom minister A Raja and three associates — former officials R K Chandolia and Siddharth Behura, and businessman Shahid Usman Balwa — in its chargesheet before a Delhi court in the 2G spectrum scam.
The chargesheet, which will be filed on March 31, will name Swan Telecom and Unitech Wireless as two major beneficiaries of the scam, it is learnt.
The agency, which is now giving final touches to the chargesheet, will not present the document to the Supreme Court, but will instead file a status report on March 29, “broadly” covering its contents.
“We will file the chargesheet before the designated court,” said a top CBI officer.
DMK-backed Kalaignar TV, which is alleged to have received kickback money, will be named, and its CEO Sharad Kumar will be listed as an accused, sources said. CBI does not as yet intend to include DMK MP Kanimozhi in the chargesheet, but will take a final decision after receiving legal opinion.
