Godhra case: The Jan Sangharsh Manch questions govt’s opposition to summoning Modi

Ahmedabad: The Jan Sangharsh Manch (JSM) on Monday argued before the Gujarat high court on why chief minister Narendra Modi should be summoned by the Godhra probe panel. JSM advocate Mukul Sinha said that the government expanded references of the commission in 2004 that it could summon even the chief minister, and yet it has been opposing the same. The Nanavati-Mehta commission had denied JSM’s plea on the ground that there was no evidence to summon the CM. Sinha claimed that three officials of CMO have admitted to having received calls from riots accused. The advocate general will argue on April 22. TNN
