HC moved against probe panel order

Ahmedabad: The state government has approached the Gujarat high court (HC) against an order issued by the inquiry commission probing the mysterious death of two
kids — Dipesh and Abhishek Waghela — in July 2008. The panel had asked forensic science laboratory (FSL) to produce its report in the case.
The kids’ bodies were found from the riverbed behind Asaram Gurukul in Motera. The incident created uproar among people and the state government later set up Justice D K Trivedi inquiry commission.
The commission asked the FSL to submit its report, but the laboratory informed the government that it could not place its report before the inquiry commission. Following this, the government moved the HC challenging the commission’s order, said government pleader Prakash Jani.
In another development, kids’ parents have sought inquiry by CID (crime) into the firing that took place in Chandkheda last year on a follower of Asaram, Raju Chandak. Asaram had sought anticipatory bail last year after an FIR was lodged with the Sabarmati police. But the high court denied him bail.
